SIMELANE FAMILY THRIVES AFTER ASIBAMBANENI SIBE NGUMDENI SUPPORT

BY NOMTHANDAZO MAYISELA

MBABANE – The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has highlighted the positive transformation of the Simelane family, one of the households reunited and supported through the Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumdeni Programme.

The family benefited during the inaugural season of the programme, a Government initiative aimed at restoring family unity while improving the social and economic wellbeing of vulnerable households across the country.

Through the intervention, the Simelane family received a fully equipped modern home fitted with solar energy, reliable water supply and improved sanitation facilities. In addition, the household was provided with agricultural support including livestock and farming inputs to help strengthen food security and promote sustainable livelihoods.

Officials from the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office said the initiative demonstrates Government’s commitment to restoring stability within families while empowering communities to become more self-sufficient.

They explained that the programme adopts a holistic approach that addresses both the emotional wellbeing of families and their long-term economic resilience. By supporting families with housing, agricultural resources and social services, the programme aims to rebuild strong family structures while creating opportunities for sustainable development.

Government representatives noted that stable families form the foundation of strong communities. When households are supported and empowered, they are better able to contribute positively to the social and economic progress of the nation.

The Simelane family’s story reflects the broader impact of the programme, which focuses on restoring dignity, strengthening relationships and providing practical support that enables families to rebuild their lives.

Through improved living conditions and access to productive resources, the family is now better positioned to support itself and plan for the future. The initiative has also helped restore a sense of unity and stability within the household.

Officials emphasised that strengthening families remains a key priority in national development efforts, as resilient households contribute to safer communities and a more stable society.

The Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumdeni Programme continues to reach vulnerable families across Eswatini as part of broader efforts to promote social restoration, strengthen community bonds and encourage long-term self-reliance.

By investing in families and creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, the programme aims to uplift communities and build a stronger, more resilient nation.
