Darline M Henderson Moens: 1934 – 2025
Darline M. Henderson Moens, 91, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025 in Goleta, California. She was born on April 4, 1934, in Midwest, Wyoming and was raised with the strong values of faith, service, and devotion to family that would define her life.
As a young woman, Darline was a proud member of Job’s Daughters, an experience that reflected her early commitment to faith, leadership, and community. As a young adult, she went to Colorado Women’s Christian College for a short time but came home to marry the love of her life and begin their lives together. In her adult years, she continued that dedication as an active member of Eastern Star Bethel #28 in Casper, where she formed lasting friendships and remained devoted to charitable and fraternal work.
Darline married Peter G. “Bud” Moens at the First Presbyterian Church of Casper in 1953, beginning a lifelong partnership of 63 years built on love and laughter. Together they made their home in Casper, Wyoming where they raised their family and created a place that would become the heart of countless cherished memories for generations of their family. She enjoyed her Bridge and Birthday Clubs, as she was a born hostess and a devoted friend. During the quiet times, she treasured fishing behind her home, reading books, listening to music and dancing in the living room with Bud. Darline loved dancing!
In 2013, Darline and Bud moved to Goleta, California to enjoy their golden years in the warmth of the sun. Though she left Wyoming, her Wyoming spirit — resilient, welcoming, and strong — remained with her always.
Darline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter G. “Bud” Moens; her sons, Gordon Moens (Susan) and Bruce Moens (Chris); her daughter, Linda May Glover (Tony); and her granddaughter, Sarah V. Campbell.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. Petersen (Glenn); her grandchildren: Erika Martin (Jason), Kevin Moens (Katrina), Jory Moens (Marianne), Alex Glover, Nikolas Glover, Ashley Moens, and Ryan Moens (Mindy); and her great-grandchildren: Lia Flores Moens, Logan Ryberg, Brodie Ryberg, Weston Martin, Cora May Martin, Reese Moens-Hicks and Hailey Moens.
Darline will be remembered as the heart of her family — a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was gathering those she loved around her table. Her legacy lives in the traditions she created and the deep bonds she nurtured.
A celebration of her life will be held at Red Butte Ranch 8450 Bessemer Bend South in Casper on April 4, 2026, which would have been her 92nd birthday. The gathering will begin at noon.
We will come together to share food, stories, memories, and laughter as we honor her remarkable life. In keeping with the spirit of celebration and reflecting her bright, bubbly personality, guests are encouraged to wear cheerful, colorful attire.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity in her name.
What an amazing legacy she leaves behind.
