Local artist honours Grenadian women on International Women’s Day

Grenadian artist Kristianne Buxo will host GRENADIANA: Presence • Passion • Poise, a solo exhibition dedicated to celebrating the strength, dignity, and cultural presence of Grenadian women.

The exhibition takes place on Saturday, 7 March 2026, at Décorum, from 6–9 pm, on the eve of International Women’s Day.

In recognition of International Women’s Day on 8 March, Buxo has partnered with Sweet Water Foundation to encourage direct donations to the organisation during the event. A portion of proceeds from art sales will also be contributed to support its programmes benefiting women and families in Grenada.

Through expressive portraiture inspired by Caribbean feminine presence, GRENADIANA honours mothers, daughters, and matriarchs whose resilience and grace continue to shape the nation’s identity.

“In light of recent conversations surrounding the well-being and protection of women in Grenada, it felt important to use my work to honour and uplift our women,” Buxo shared. “This exhibition is both a celebration and a gesture of solidarity.”

The evening will offer more than visual art. Restaurants and bars within the Exit 473 complex will remain open to patrons, and music will accompany the exhibition, creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere.

Additional parking has been graciously provided by L L Ramdhanny & Co. Ltd, with their nearby parking lot available for guests.

Members of the public are invited to attend and participate in this celebration of Grenadian women through art, community, and meaningful support.
