Earthquake rumbles across parts of southeast Nebraska

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook Nebraska on Sunday morning (USGS image)

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook southeast Nebraska on Sunday afternoon.

The quake was centered about 3 miles east of Cowles, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

According to the USGS, the earthquake was reported just before 1 p.m. with a depth of around 2 miles.

Officials said the quake traveled at least 86 miles.
