Kyrgyzstan expressed serious concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East. The statement was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

«The Kyrgyz Republic advocates for the consolidation of efforts by the international community toward a peaceful settlement of the situation in the region in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, immediately cease hostilities, and take all possible measures to swiftly return to constructive dialogue in order to resolve the situation exclusively through peaceful means,» the ministry said.

Earlier reports indicated that the armed forces of Israel and the United States carried out multiple strikes on various cities and military facilities in Iran. In response, Tehran launched attacks on Israel and U.S. military bases in several Middle Eastern countries.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a military operation against Iran.
