Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said in a newly published statement that revenge is a “legitimate right and duty”.

Details: Pezeshkian, whose fate has remained unclear, reportedly said that the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was an “open war against Muslims“.

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers bloodshed and revenge against the perpetrators and commanders of this crime as its legitimate duty and right, and will fulfill this great responsibility and duty with all its might,” he said.

Pezeshkian added that Khamenei’s death is the “greatest affliction of the Islamic world today“.
