Clean Sport In Focus: Minister Watts Meets WADA Officials

Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to clean sport took centre stage on Thursday, as the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Phillip Watts, welcomed officials from the World Anti-Doping Agency to his Port of Spain office.

The high-level courtesy visit saw WADA represented by Raphael Renzende, alongside Dr. Sasha Sutherland of the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organization. Also in attendance were Permanent Secretary Penelope Bradshaw-Niles, representatives of the local Anti-Doping Organisation, Douglas Camacho and Andre Collins, and Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee President Diane Henderson, accompanied by Dr. Terry Ali and Rheeza Grant.

Talks centred on athlete well-being, the promotion of clean sport, and strengthening anti-doping systems and education across the country.

Minister Watts reaffirmed his commitment to fair competition, as Trinidad and Tobago continues to build its standing as a regional leader in sports integrity and athlete-centred governance.
