FARGO (KVRR/KFGO) – A Fargo man will spend over seven years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of sexual misconduct with two 14-year-old girls, and terrorizing with a dangerous weapon.   

Carter Hammer admitted to having sex with one of the girls several times last summer while she was 14 and 15, saying the two were in a ‘situationship,’ and the sex was consensual. He also admitted to knowing how old she was.

The girl’s mother reported the crime after she received Snapchat screenshots from multiple people showing claims by the girl that she was sexually assaulted by Hammer. After his arrest, Hammer tried contacting the girl from jail and told investigators the two had matching tattoos professing their love for one another.

In a separate incident, Hammer also admitted to flashing a gun to a group of car enthusiasts in north fargo last summer.

A judge sentenced Hammer to 10 years in prison with two years suspended and credit for nearly a year already served.
