It’s back to life as usual for many who endured Monday’s blizzard, but it’s far from normal on Cape Cod, where people are still digging out or have no power to their homes and businesses.

In Eastham, about 85% of the town was still without power as of Wednesday afternoon. Eastham Public Library is serving as a warming and charging center for area residents. According to  director Melanie McKenzie, it’s the only library close by that has a generator. So residents have been going there to charge devices, use the internet, or just warm up and read a book.

The library even provided food donated by local partners. People could grab a cup of coffee and a pastry int he morning, or a slice of pizza at lunch.

Meanwhile, not far away in the town of Truro, Raluca Edwards opened the shop she manages — Atlantic Spice Company — for the first time since the blizzard. She said she wanted to keep up with the tradition of the shop’s Wednesday tea tasting.
