Vanuatu Women’s Festival Brings Together 100 Women Leaders in Port Vila

The Vanuatu Women’s Festival took place on 19–20 February 2026 at Warwick Le Lagon Resort & Spa in Port Vila, as part of the 4th Pacific Feminist Forum under the theme “Wan Kalja, Wan Language, Wan Wokabaot.”

The festival brought together 100 women leaders, young women, activists and community representatives to strengthen networks, share life experiences, and advance the work of gender equality in Vanuatu.

The event follows the last National Feminist Forum held in 2022 at Melanesian Hotel in Port Vila. During that forum, participants developed an Outcome Statement with key recommendations to strengthen the women’s movement in the country.

Project Coordinator at SISTAS, Rosina Lore, said the main intention behind the two-day festival was to bring women together, connect with one another, and share ideas and experiences.

She emphasized that creating a safe space for dialogue and solidarity is essential to building a stronger and more united women’s movement in Vanuatu.
