A delegation of visiting Australian parliamentarians met with emerging women leaders in Papua New Guinea on 16 February, gaining firsthand insight into the aspirations of women preparing for political leadership.
Hosted in Port Moresby by Australia’s PNG Women Lead program, in partnership with Save the Children’s Regional Leadership Initiative, the event brought together Australian MPs (Ms Ash Ambihaipahar, Ms Fiona Boyd Phillips, Ms Libby Coker, Mr Sam Birrell, and Ms Susan Templeman) and PNG women leaders for constructive dialogue on leadership, public life, and the challenges women face in politics.
