ARGOS, Ind. (WISH) — One person is dead and two others, including a juvenile, were injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 31 in Marshall County, according to Indiana State Police.
At 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 2018 Chevrolet driven by Sharon Roth, 72, of Fulton County, Indiana, crossed U.S. 31, attempting to travel eastbound on State Road 110. That intersection is near the border of Marshall County and Fulton County. Roth turned into the direct path of a 2021 Ford driven by Marija Bilic, 45, of Jenison, Michigan. A juvenile passenger was also in the Ford.
The force of the collision caused one passenger vehicle to stop on U.S. 31 in the northbound lanes, and the other vehicle to go to the east side of U.S. 31, off the roadway.
As a result of the crash, Roth suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner’s Office. Her family has been notified.
Bilic and the juvenile passenger were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Drugs and alcohol are not believe to be contributing factors in this incident. This investigation is ongoing, and toxicology reports are pending.
