General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has said that about a quarter of combat engagements in some parts of the front are offensive actions by Ukrainian units.

Quote: “About a quarter of combat engagements in some frontline areas are precisely actions of Ukrainian units on the offensive. Their goal is to keep the enemy under constant pressure, inflict losses and prevent advance. This tactic is producing results.”

Details: Syrskyi said the front line where active fighting is taking place stretches about 1,200 km. Ukrainian forces are advancing deeper into the battlefield, while the development of unmanned systems enables troops to operate farther into the kill zone, now reaching 15-20 km.

He said that the size of the Russian grouping in Ukraine has stayed around 711,000-712,000 personnel over the last six months, including operational reserve. He noted that daily Russian losses average 1,000-1,100 troops.

The commander-in-chief added that the Russians had achieved no significant operational successes in January.
