Man arrested for $8,000 theft of trading cards from Richmond Heights Meijer

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio — A Lyndhurst man, 36, was caught trying to steal $8,000 worth of trading cards from Meijer Jan. 28.

He was stopped by loss prevention as he pushed a shopping cart full of cards out of the store.

He was known to loss prevention because he had been arrested for shoplifting from the store several times in the past, as well as being suspected of stealing from other locations of Meijer.

He was jailed for the felony theft but would not tell officers what he planned to do with the cards.

Police said that they have previously recommended to store management that they keep the trading cards locked up to prevent theft.
