Bahamian police have launched an investigation into a fatal shooting that claimed the lives of two men on Sunday.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to Madeira Street shortly before noon, where they discovered two unresponsive males lying outside a business establishment. Both men appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene but found no signs of life in either victim.
Preliminary information suggests that the incident began when a police reservist attempted to make a deposit at a bank’s drop box. He was allegedly approached by individuals in a white Japanese-model vehicle. A shootout reportedly ensued, resulting in the deaths of the reservist and one of the suspects inside the vehicle. The other suspects fled the scene.
Police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact 911.
