Hyderabad: A day after BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was questioned by Special Investigation Team officials, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, in an indirect jibe, alleged that a few people were proclaiming themselves as the Father of the State and conferring titles on themselves.

He also took exception to some people questioning the SIT’s decision to issue notices and terming it as serving notices to entire Telangana. The Chief Minister made these remarks after presenting the Ravi Narayana Reddy National Award to Justice B Sudarshan Reddy here on Monday.

“Arguments were raised over the venue for questioning, insisting that the examination should be conducted at his current residential address. I fail to understand this logic,” Revanth Reddy said. He further alleged that after the formation of Telangana, irregularities were committed and contracts were secured illegally by a few people. “How can such people be the father of the State or revolutionaries?” he asked.

The Chief Minister also shared a few aspects about former Union Minister late S Jaipal Reddy. “Politically, we did not have a cordial relationship. In fact, I was responsible for his defeat by 2,000 votes during the 2014 Parliament elections. Yet, he never hated me,” Revanth Reddy said.
