March

• The Sitio, a new surf-inspired boutique hotel in Virginia Beach, is accepting reservations for stays beginning in March. The hotel is within the Atlantic Park development at 365 18th St.
• Virginia Beach Obstetrics & Gynecology plans to open a new women’s health facility in Town Center in March. It will replace the practice’s Providence Road location.

February

• Sentara Family Medicine and Sentara Urgent Care have relocated to a new facility in Virginia Beach’s Chimney Hill area, according to a release. Sentara Urgent Care opened Jan. 30 at 3745 Holland Road, Suite 100,  and Sentara Family Medicine Physicians opened Feb. 2 at the same address, in suite 200.
• Carrot Tree Kitchens, previously located at 1303 Jamestown Road in the Colony Square shopping complex in Williamsburg, closed Jan. 17. The bakery and restaurant plans to reopen this month in its original location in the space formerly occupied by Toby’s Dog House.
• The owners of Jamestown Pie Company will reopen under a new name: Pie & Dine. The opening is slated for mid-February at 7103 Pocahontas Trail in Williamsburg.
• Specialty fur shop Lowenthal Outerwear Boutique in Virginia Beach will close Feb. 28.

January

• Mango Mangeaux in the Phoebus area of Hampton closed Jan. 1.
• YROC Coastal Bar & Grill in Gloucester announced Jan. 1 that they plan to expand the restaurant, taking over the marina store space at York River Yacht Haven.
• First Watch opened a new location Jan. 7 at 3090 Godwin Blvd. in Suffolk.
• Geno’s Steaks, known for its cheesesteaks, opened its first Virginia location between PBR nightclub and Bass Pro Shops in Hampton’s Power Plant area Jan. 8, according to its Facebook page.
• Haygood Skating Center on Ferry Plantation Road in Virginia Beach closed Jan. 11.
• RejuviClear Spa & Wellness held a grand opening Jan. 20 at its new location at 1213E George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown.
• Sandwich shop Potbelly opened its first Southeast Virginia location Jan. 20 in the Fairfield Shopping Center in Virginia Beach’s Kempsville area, according to a release. A grand opening was held Jan. 30.
• Funny Bone Comedy Club reopened Jan. 2 in Virginia Beach’s Pembroke Square. The comedy club celebrated its grand reopening alongside DraftCade, an arcade bar which opened Jan. 22.
• The Hound’s Tale, which recently moved from downtown Williamsburg to the space formerly occupied by Baker’s Crust in Settler’s Market, held a grand opening Jan. 23. The restaurant is now located at 5234 Monticello Ave.
• Golden Luxe Arena, a roller skating and entertainment venue, held a ribbon cutting Jan. 23 at 813 W. Constance St. in downtown Suffolk, according to a release.
• Wiseguy Pizza opened Jan. 27 at 1875 Arctic Ave. in Virginia Beach’s Atlantic Park development.
• Carolee Vitaletti closed her gallery in the New France village of Busch Gardens, near the Alpengeist coaster. She will continue to sell her art online at caroleevitalettiart.com.
• Saudade, a restaurant with a broader Mediterranean-inspired menu, held a soft opening Jan. 28, according to its Facebook page. The restaurant at 1325 Jamestown Road in Williamsburg was previously La Tienda, a Spanish retail and tapas bar that was remodeled and rebranded.
• Regal MacArthur Center showed its last movie in Norfolk Jan. 29.
• Eggs Up Grill opened at 2170 Coliseum Drive, Suite 10, in Hampton on Jan. 29, according to a release.

End of 2025

• Virginia Furniture Co. in Norfolk closed after 86 years on Dec. 31.
• Brothers restaurant at MacArthur Center in Norfolk closed Dec. 31.
• Pollards Chicken & Catering closed their Ballentine Boulevard location in Norfolk on Dec. 30, according to a Facebook post.
• Feather ‘n’ Fin Chicken & Seafood closed multiple locations at the end of December: on Tidewater Drive  and another on Princess Anne Road in Norfolk and Virginia Beach Boulevard in Virginia Beach.
• Smartmouth Brewing Co. closed its original Norfolk location after 13 years.
• Integrity Skin & DermCare opened Dec. 22 at 2041 Fisher Arch, Suite 110, in Virginia Beach.
• First Watch opened a new restaurant at 3090 Godwin Boulevard in Suffolk on Dec. 22, according to a release.
• Culture Cafe in Williamsburg closed Dec. 21.
• AJ’s Downtown Dogs, a retro-inspired gourmet hot dog diner, held a grand opening in Suffolk Dec. 19, according to a release. It’s located at 165 N. Main St.
• Trader Joe’s opened in Virginia Beach’s Town Center Dec. 19. It’s located at 220 Constitution Drive.
• Rich Port Coffee celebrated its grand opening Dec. 15 at 1107 Poindexter St. in Chesapeake’s South Norfolk neighborhood.
• The Grill, an upscale steakhouse, opened Dec. 9 in Virginia Beach’s Atlantic Park development. It’s located at 405 19th St.
• Evolve Imagery opened a studio space for photography, videography and podcast production on Nov. 21. It’s located at 809 Live Oak Drive, Unit 25, in Chesapeake.

Coming soon

• Don Chido, a popular food truck specializing in Latin-Korean fusion cuisine, plans to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in downtown Williamsburg in the spring. It will be located at 515 Prince George St., adjacent to The Amber Ox.
• Ricky’s Wine Bar will open in the spring at 501 Prince George St. in the space formerly occupied by the Corner BARkery in downtown Williamsburg.
