ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Two men have been sentenced to life in prison plus 24 years for the murder of Antonio Jaramillo in 2020.
A Bernalillo County jury found Charles Robinson and Walter Eddings guilty in October last year. They were convicted of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, aggravated burglary, and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary. Eddings was also found guilty of kidnapping and tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors accused Eddings of pulling the trigger, while Robinson was said to have planned the murder to rob Jaramillo of drugs and money.
Three co-defendants, Gabriel Joseph Blea, Amber Carlton, and Reyanon Duncan, took plea deals and testified against Robinson and Eddings. Carlton pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary. Duncan pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and armed robbery. Blea pleaded guilty to kidnapping, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, aggravated burglary, and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.
The co-defendants’ sentencings are set for Friday.
