According to the statement of David Songulashvili, a member of the Governmental Coordination Commission related to food production prices, by the end of April, the specific results of the commission will be known to the public.
David Songulashvili noted, “By the end of April, the concrete results of the commission’s work will be known to the public.”
“At the organizational meeting of the Government Commission, we discussed the plan, as well as the process, of how the work will be carried out; planned meetings with all the parties involved to discuss the action plan and determine the results that are important to achieve through the work of this Commission,” David Songulashvili noted.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its Official Facebook Page on January 19, 2026, Tuesday. The Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
Regarding the prices of food production, the current Government Coordination Commission, led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, will also conduct the work on the prices of medicines and fuel.
This decision was made at the first meeting of the commission, which was held in the government administration. At the meeting, members discussed the action plan for next week, which includes meetings with representatives from manufacturers, retail networks, and distribution companies.
The commission will work in coordination with the relevant parliamentary commission and will probably finish its work by the end of April. In the process of working, detailed information on the real value of products, price components, and possible illogical price additions is provided to the public step by step. The Members of the commission assume that the price reductions will begin step-by-step alongside the work process.
