President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Tuesday issued a presidential decree relieving the Minister of Interior, the Governor of Lakes State, and the Director General of the External Security Bureau, alongside several other senior officials, and appointed new officials to key government and security positions.
In the decree broadcast on state media, President Kiir relieved Angelina Teny as Minister of Interior, Rin Tueny Mabor as Governor of Lakes State, and Gen. Thoi Chany Reat as Director General of the External Security Bureau.
Other officials relieved include Labor Minister James Hoth Mai, Human Resource and Human Development Minister Hon. Dak Doup Bichiok, Hon. Dr. Nadia Arop Dudi, Minister of Culture, Museum and National Heritage, and Deng John Angok, Deputy Governor of Upper Nile State.
President Kiir appointed Gen. Aleu Ayieny Aleu as the new Minister of Interior, Madhang Majok as Governor of Lakes State, and Gen. Abraham Keat Bichok as Director General of the External Security Bureau.
Additional appointments include Hon. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth as Minister of Public Service, Hon. Anthony Lino Makana as Minister of Labour, Hon. Sarah Nyanath Elijiah Yong as Minister of Culture, Museum and National Heritage, and Hon. Deng Akuei Kak as Deputy Governor of Upper Nile State.
The changes take effect immediately, according to the decree.
