BENTLEYVILLE, Ohio
Disabled motor vehicle: Grey Fox Run
A Cleveland-area man escaped injury on the afternoon of Jan. 15 after his car spun out in heavy snowfall, veering off the roadway and into a ditch.
Removal of the compact car required a tow truck and a winch-out at the scene, with the only damage appearing on the grass underneath more than a foot of snow that fell continually over a 24-hour period.
The ditch itself was not that deep, but the volume of snow necessitated the tow truck and cable to pull it back to the road and on its way.
Other than that minimal property damage, Bentleyville Police Chief Gabe Barone said officers spent the storm primarily assisting other motorists who got stuck on hills around the village.
“The most important thing is that no one was injured in the adverse conditions,” Barone added.
