Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, on the occasion of Thiruvalluvar Day on Friday (January 16, 2026), made four promises to the people of Tamil Nadu. In a social media post, Mr. Stalin emphasised that courage against social injustices and communal forces; humanitarian programmes for the uplift of the poor and the downtrodden; initiatives to nurture youngsters’ knowledge; and steps towards industrial development and women empowerment would continue in the State.
“On this Thiruvalluvar Day, I assure you that these four will continue in Tamil Nadu,” he said.
On Thursday (January 15), Mr. Stalin celebrated Pongal at the Shelter for Urban Homeless and Wellness Centre on Third Beach Lane.
