Finland Remains Among Top Four in Global Passport Power Rankings | Finland Today | News in English

The Henley Passport Index ranks Finland’s passport fourth in the world, granting visa-free entry to 185 destinations. However, visas are still necessary for countries such as Afghanistan and North Korea.

In previous years, Finland’s ranking was higher: third last year and second in 2024. The index has been published since 2006, with Finland leading the rankings during its first two years.

Currently, Singapore holds the top position with visa-free access to 192 countries. Japan and South Korea are tied for second place (188 destinations), while Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland share third place (186 destinations). Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Norway join Finland at fourth place.

Afghanistan is ranked lowest with access to only 24 countries; Syria follows with 26; Iraq has access to 29; Yemen and Pakistan each have access to 31; Somalia follows with 33.

The index evaluates a total of 199 passports based on visa-free entry to 227 destinations.
