Maria R. “Ria” Hopkins: 1938 – 2026
Maria Hopkins, age 87, of Bar Nunn, Wyoming passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 after lengthy illness.
She is survived by son, Danny (Susan) Hopkins of Maryville, Tennessee; daughter, Debbie (Monte) Nelms of Bar Nunn, Wyoming; six granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Leni (Don) Presley of Maryville, Tennessee; brother, Gunter Ring of Bingen, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
Maria was born in Bingen, Germany and became a military wife who traveled from base to base with her husband and children for 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Larry E. Hopkins; and son, Ronald D. Hopkins.
Maria, known by all as Ria, enjoyed honky tonkin’, karaoke, dancing, bingo, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
She will be missed by all.
Edith Joy Miskimins: 1943 – 2026
Edith Joy Miskimins died peacefully on January 1 after battling dementia and cancer.
Joy was born in Casper, Wyoming on September 7, 1943 to Harold and Mary (Sinclair) Spaulding.
Joy attended local schools and was in the class of 1962 at Natrona County High School.
Joy married Mel Miskimins on January 7, 1960 and had three children: Jake, Riley and Shannon Margaret.
Joy dedicated her time to family and raising her children in Casper. In 1975, she moved to Aberdeen, Scotland with her family for three years. This experience brought lifelong friends and memories. She returned to Wyoming in 1978 and over the years lived in Casper, Mountain View and Buffalo. In 2011, she moved to Windsor, Colorado to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Joy loved being with family and friends. Each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her.
Joy was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon; parents, Harold and Mary (Sinclair) Spaulding; sister, Margaret Benson; ex-husband, Mel Miskimins
Surviving Joy are her son, Jake (Jackie) of Windsor, Colorado: son, Riley (Lori) of Windsor, Colorado; grandchildren: Alexa Winston of Ft Collins, Colorado; Beau (Baily) Miskimins of Timnath, Colorado; Dillon (Kalyn) Miskimins of Littleton, Colorado; Garrett Miskimins of Casper, Wyoming; Shelby (Alicia) Miskimins of Casper, Wyoming; six great-grandchildren: Nova, Brett, Adalyn, Clarke, Sutton and Walker; brother, Jere (Sue) Spaulding of Casper, Wyoming; and several special nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at Sky Terrace Restaurant and Lounge in Casper at noon on Saturday, February 21.
Connie A. Neal: 1942 – 2026
Connie Alice Neal peacefully passed away at the age of 83, in Casper, Wyoming, on January 13, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1942, in Casper, Wyoming, to Helen and John Bolinger.
Connie graduated from Natrona County High School in 1960. She started a career in banking at the First National Bank. She then went on to work at the Reliant Credit Union as the executive vice president. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and painting, She was also passionate about animals, especially birds, dogs, and horses.
She is survived by her son, Dean (Teresa) Neal of Casper, Wyoming; her granddaughter, Ashley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, sister, and niece.
A rosary will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, at 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, 400 Country Club Road, Casper, WY 82609 at 10:30 a.m. with burial immediately following at Highland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions in honor of Connie’s memory.
Connie will be remembered for deeply caring about her friends and family, and for her outgoing personality.
