Sunshine Continues, Warmer for Monday

Mostly clear skies will continue for the rest of Sunday as temperatures return to the 30s for the final stretch of the weekend.

Temperatures tonight will be mild for early January in the middle to upper 20s.

Expect winds to remain strong overnight in Lincoln with temperatures dropping to the middle 20s.

Most of the state should see plenty of sunshine for the start of the work week, according to the latest runs of StormCast.

Keep the coat handy for the start of the day with temperatures in the 20s and 30s for the Monday morning commute.

We can lose the coats by the afternoon with afternoon temperatures in the middle to upper 50s!

We top out on Monday afternoon in the middle 50s with plenty of sunshine. Despite being 20 degrees above average, we will still fall close to 10 degrees short of our record high (64° – 1987).

Warmer temperatures continue for Tuesday before a passing front knocks us back into the 40s. The best chance, though small, of precipitation comes late Thursday into early Friday of this week. Another blast of cold air returns to the plains next weekend, bringing highs in the upper 20s.
