Saddam Haftar arrives in Cairo to discuss joint military cooperation

Cairo – General Staff Major General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, arrived in Egypt. He received an official invitation from General Abdul Majeed Saqr. Saqr is the Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production. The visit aims to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.

General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, welcomed the Deputy Commander-in-Chief. Several Chiefs of Staff from both the Egyptian and Libyan Armed Forces were also present. The official reception reflected the strength of bilateral relations. It also demonstrated the spirit of cooperation between the two military institutions.

General Saddam Haftar held a formal meeting with General Abdul Majeed Saqr. Saqr is the Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces. He also serves as the Minister of Defense and Military Production. They discussed prospects for joint cooperation. This specifically covered military training and experience exchange. These efforts aim to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces in both countries. They also strengthen joint coordination on matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief conveyed greetings. These came from Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. They were for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He appreciated Egypt’s pivotal role. This role is significant at both the Arab and regional levels.

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief affirmed the deep historical ties. He also noted the fraternal bonds between Libya and Egypt. He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and coordination. This serves the security and stability of both countries. It also benefits their two fraternal peoples.
