Locals protest in Moorhead over recent ICE shooting in Minneapolis

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Many made their way to Moorhead to protest over the recent ICE shooting in Minneapolis that led to one woman’s death.

The protest hosted by the Red River United Indivisible was held at 8th & 24th Ave. South in Moorhead.

Many who showed up to protest held signs displaying pictures of Renee Nicole Good, the 37-year-old who was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.

While other signs called on ICE to leave Minnesota.

“To have a fellow Minnesotan like us who goes out and protests, and it’s part of the constitution that we can protest. And then to be killed just like that, it really makes us all angry,” said John Benson, a Protester.
“We’re all Americans, and the things that are being put at risk are fundamental rights and liberties that we all value. That you know, when I was a kid, and I grew up learning about our country and the great place that it is, those things that I learned about and those things that we took for granted are the things that are at greatest risk right now,” said Deb White, Moorhead City Council Member.

Another protest is scheduled for Saturday at 1 P.M.
