Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed Education department officials to take steps to provide quality breakfast and lunch to students enrolled in government schools.

He wanted setting up of one centralised kitchen for every two Assembly constituencies to meet the requirement. The CM gave these directions during a meeting with senior officials on Thursday to review the functioning of the department. The meeting discussed about the infrastructure and amenities needed for providing quality food to students.

Mr. Revanth Reddy wanted the officials concerned to explore the possibility of setting up solar kitchens so that the requirement could be met. He instructed the officials to speed up the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools. Officials should accordingly focus on making adequate provisions for the integrated schools in their budget estimates.
