Mongolia included in ranking of top 20 countries for tourism recovery
AKIPRESS.COM – Mongolia was included in the ranking of top 20 countries for tourism recovery, according to the November 2025 edition of the “World Tourism Barometer” published by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Montsame reported.
The report indicates that the number of foreign visitors to Mongolia increased by 16% in nine months of 2025 compared to 2024, which is twice the regional average.
Compared to the pre-pandemic level in 2019, inbound tourism has grown by 44%, positioning Mongolia among the fastest-recovering tourism destinations globally. This performance exceeds the regional average.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth, the results stem from policies implemented under the Years to Visit Mongolia (2023–2028) initiative, including expanded tourism promotion, eased visa requirements, and increased international flights.
