THE Ministry of Finance (MOF) has announced a reduction in retail prices for non-subsidised RON95, RON97 petrol and diesel across Peninsular Malaysia for the period from 25 to 31 December 2025.
The move follows fluctuations in global oil prices and aims to ease the burden on consumers during the festive season.
Under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), non-subsidised RON95 petrol will decrease by six sen, bringing the price to RM2.56 per litre, while RON97 petrol will fall by eight sen to RM3.16 per litre.
Diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will also see an eight sen reduction, with the new price set at RM2.94 per litre.
Subsidised RON95 petrol under the BUDI95 scheme will remain unchanged at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel prices in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will continue at RM2.15 per litre.
MOF emphasised that retail fuel prices will continue to be reviewed and adjusted in accordance with movements in global oil markets, while prioritising price stability to safeguard the welfare of the public.
“The Government will continue monitoring global oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure people’s welfare remains intact,” the Ministry stated, highlighting its ongoing commitment to supporting consumers amid market fluctuations. – December 24, 2025
