Trump-Branded Kennedy Center Books A Film Premiere That Totally Makes Sense

The film, titled “Melania,” follows the first lady in the days leading up to the president’s second inauguration. A theatrical release is scheduled for January 30, before the movie is available for streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video platform later in the year.

HuffPost has reached out to Amazon for comment about the premiere location.

Directed and produced by “Rush Hour” director Brett Ratner, “Melania” is the first film he’s made since at least six women accused him of sexual harassment or misconduct during the height of the “Me Too” movement.

Ticket sales have plummeted since the Trump takeover.

The renaming of the center has also led Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio), an ex-officio board member who claimed her microphone was muted during the “unanimous” vote last week, to file a lawsuit against the president, claiming the name change was against federal law.

At least one act, folk singer Kristy Lee, canceled her scheduled performance at the center next month, NOTUS reported. Other artists on the center’s calendar have also voiced concerns about the name change.
