Source: Australia High Commission, Samoa. The Australian High Commission in Samoa are proud to announce Australia Awards alum Eric U.J. Tuia who recently completed his dual Master’s degrees in Global Health and Infectious Disease Intelligence through the Australia Awards.

Mr Tuia is from Vaivase uta, Vaiee, Manono and Utualii and he is a Senior Officer with Samoa’s Ministry of Health.
His studies and expertise will be well applied in laboratory diagnostics, disease surveillance, and health security to support early detection and response to public health threats.
Eric’s studies will contribute to strengthening Samoa’s preparedness for outbreaks today and in the future

His advice to other students is not to be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.
