Luxembourg’s inflation rate increased to 3.6% in November 2025, according to data published by EU statistics office Eurostat on Wednesday.
This compares with 3.0% in October and 1.1% in November 2024. The national statistic agency Statec said earlier this month that the annual inflation rate climbed from 2.7% in October to 3.0% in November. Both agencies use different methodologies to calculate the rate of price increases.
Luxembourg’s annual inflation rate in November was above both the euro area average of 2.1% and the European Union average of 2.4%.
Within the euro area, lower annual rates were recorded in France (0.8%), Italy (1.1%) and Cyprus (0.1%), while higher rates were reported in Estonia (4.7%) and Croatia (4.3%). Romania recorded the highest annual inflation rate in the EU at 8.6%.
Luxembourg’s 0.6% jump between months was the second highest among the group of 20 countries which use the euro as their currency, according to the data published by Eurostat earlier this month.
Significant inflation spike for Luxembourg in November, says Eurostat
Luxembourg’s annual inflation has increased steadily in recent months, the Eurostat data showed, rising from 2.6% in July, 2.8% in August and 3.1% in September, before reaching 3.0% in October and 3.6% in November.
On a monthly basis, prices in Luxembourg increased by 0.1% in November compared with October.
In its release, the EU statistic agency said the largest contribution to euro area inflation continued to come from services, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco, while energy prices made a negative contribution.
The next so-called flash estimate of euro area inflation, covering December 2025, is scheduled for publication during the first week of January.
