Celebrities to sell special T-shirts at Dundrum Town Centre to support Focus Ireland

Miriam O’Callaghan, Rosanna Davison and Patrick Bergin are just some of the big names rowing in to help this week at a pop-up event to raise money for Focus Ireland.

A special T-shirt by internationally acclaimed Irish fashion designer Helen Steele will be on sale from 4pm to 7pm in Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin on Wednesday. All proceeds from sales of the T-shirt will go to Focus Ireland.

“I’m delighted to have had the honour of creating something special and unique for such an important cause,” Steele said. “I’ll be there to help sell them. This is something that is very close to my heart.”

Focus Ireland CEO Pat Dennigan said: “There are 5,200 children that are facing into Christmas and the New Year in emergency accommodation. Somebody worked out that that is about 222 primary schools with full classes… They are growing up and trying to put their lives together from emergency accommodation.”

Sunday Independent journalist Barry Egan, who organised the project, said: “This is why the work that Focus Ireland do is so important. We will be announcing the details of the annual Sunday Independent’s Rock Against Homelessness concert — now in its 11th year — on the day of the event at Dundrum Town Centre. ”
