To mark the 25th anniversary of the state’s formation and its silver jubilee year, the central and state governments have offered affordable air service to travelers in the state. This air service from Dehradun to Gauchar will be available seven days a week, with two flights per day.

The government has relaunched affordable air service under the UDAN scheme. This helicopter service began today, Saturday, December 10, and will be operated by Heritage Aviation. This air service was originally launched on October 8, 2021, but was discontinued in July 2022. It has resumed after nearly three years.

The government has reduced the fare by half

A significant feature of this air service is that the government has reduced the fare by almost half. Passengers will reach Gauchar from Dehradun via Tehri and Srinagar in approximately 45 minutes. Previously, the one-way fare from Dehradun to Gauchar under this scheme was approximately 8,000 rupees per passenger, but this time it has been reduced to 4,000 rupees.

Passengers will have to pay an additional 5% GST. Heritage Aviation Vice President Kumar Gaurav said that as per the fixed network, the company’s helicopter service will be available in the morning from Dehradun to New Tehri at 10:15 am, from Tehri to Srinagar at 10:30 am, from Srinagar to Gauchar at 10:45 am and for return, from Gauchar to Srinagar at 11 am, from Srinagar to New Tehri at 11:15 am and from Tehri to Dehradun at 11:30 am.
