A FEMALE teacher’s attempt to escape from her husband who was allegedly beating her ended with a car accident.

Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan, said the police received a report made by the 26-year-old female teacher at 12.20pm yesterday.

According to him, the victim had previously claimed she was beaten by her husband while at their residence in Salak Selatan, Kuala Lumpur.

To avoid being beaten further, she gave the excuse of leaving the house to throw out the rubbish, before running away.

The victim was assisted by her brother who was driving a Mercedes Benz car which then collided with the car driven by the victim’s husband.

“The man chased them all the way to Jalan Kampung Pasir Pantai Dalam.

“The victim’s husband also hit his brother-in-law’s car twice, causing them to almost skid before they managed to escape to the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE),” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, in a latest development, the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) said it was investigating the case.

Kuala Lumpur JSPT chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said his department confirmed receiving information regarding the road accident involving two cars.

“The accident involved a Mercedes driven by a 28-year-old man with his 26-year-old sister and a Proton X50 driven by the woman’s husband.

“Initial investigations found that while the victim was driving to pick up his sister (in the process of calming the situation), his sister-in-law asked him to stop before his car was hit from behind, causing damage to the rear,” he said.

However, he said no injuries were reported to anyone in the incident.

“The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/59 for failing to control the vehicle causing an accident.

“Witnesses who saw the incident are asked to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting the Tun HS Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or any nearby police station,” he said. – December 7, 2025
