A historic record broken before the first match

One month before kick-off, the CAN 2025 is already breaking impressive records. According to information shared by journalist Lassana Camara, revenues from sponsorships and ticket sales have reached nearly 300 million euros, an amount equivalent to the total of the four previous editions combined, even though the tournament has not yet started.

This exceptional performance can be explained by the commitment of the host country, Morocco, which has modernized its stadiums, launched a massive communication campaign, and implemented an aggressive commercial strategy. The geographical proximity to Europe has encouraged a massive purchase of tickets by African diasporas. The high demand for matches involving the Atlas Lions and Algeria has accentuated the scarcity effect, while new international sponsors have joined the competition.

The momentum started by the CAN 2023 in Ivory Coast, already considered one of the best in history, has also contributed to this enthusiasm. For the CAF, these figures confirm that African football has now reached a new level.

Morocco is thus preparing to offer a historically lucrative and media-followed edition, symbolizing the continuous rise of African football and the continent’s ability to organize major international sporting events. The CAN 2025 could well go down in history as one of the most spectacular competitions ever held in Africa.
