Kerala High Court has sought a report from the Public Works department (PWD) on planned repair works along the ill-maintained stretch.
Expressing dissatisfaction at the “dilapidated and unsafe condition” of the Achencoil-Konni Road that leads to Sabarimala, the Kerala High Court has sought a report from the Public Works department (PWD) on planned repair works along the ill-maintained stretch.
It further directed the executive engineer concerned of the PWD to file a detailed statement in the court in 10 days as to why no action has been taken till date to repair the road.
The official must also submit a list of proposed steps, along with a timeline, to complete the repair works, the court said, adding that it warranted urgent and immediate intervention of the PWD.
It also warned of initiating appropriate proceedings against the official concerned for wilful non-compliance, if necessary steps were not taken to restore the road.
