Foreign Minister of Tajikistan meets with EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration

AKIPRESS.COM – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with European Union Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner in Brussels on November 18, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the comprehensive cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union on issues of border strengthening, and countering security challenges, such as the joint fight against terrorism and extremism.

The sides also considered strengthening contacts, simplifying the visa-issuance process, and regulating labor migration.

Tajikistan’s dialogue with the European Union within the framework of cooperation with the EU Agency for the Protection of External Borders and Coastlines (FRONTEX) and the Office of the European Liaison Officer for Return in Central Asia (EURLO) was assessed positively, and the parties expressed their readiness to continue further developing these relations.
