Agartala, Nov 8: The Border Security Force (BSF) Tripura, in close coordination with local police, has dealt a major blow to cross-border drug trafficking, seizing 168 kg of ganja and apprehending three Bangladeshi nationals in two separate operations on Friday.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team from the BSF and P R Bari Police Station, along with the Deputy Collector and Magistrate of Belonia subdivision, conducted a house search at Uttar Awasthipara, Dakshin Krishnapur, in South Tripura’s Radhanagar area.
Security personnel recovered and seized the 168 kg of ganja concealed inside the residence.
The same day, in a separate action, BSF troops apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals from the Indian village of Megliband, Katlamura, under the Sidhai Police Station in West Tripura’s Mohanpur subdivision.
The individuals were reportedly attempting to cross illegally into Bangladesh.
The BSF stated that these operations reflect its sustained and committed effort, in partnership with state police and civil authorities, to curb trans-border crime and narcotics smuggling in Tripura.
