MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – More election history was made on this day in 2022.
Becca Balint was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives November 8, 2022, becoming Vermont’s first and only female member of Congress. Vermont also had the distinction of being the last of the 50 states to send a woman to Washington D.C.
Today we’re also going back to November 8, 1963, when the last towns in Vermont got electricity. Victory and Granby were finally wired for power on this day, giving people there a service that other parts of Vermont had enjoyed since the late 1800s.
