The nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards have been announced, with leading Nigerian artistes among the top contenders.

Davido, Omah Lay, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid earned nominations for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, highlighting another strong year for African music on the global stage.

Davido’s “With You” featuring Omah Lay is nominated in the Best African Music Performance category alongside Burna Boy’s “Love,” Ayra Starr’s “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid, Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin’s “Hope & Love,” and South Africa’s Tyla with “PUSH 2 START.”

Burna Boy also received a second nomination in the Best Global Music Album category for “No Sign of Weakness.”

He will compete against Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour (Eclairer le Monde – Light the World), Beninese icon Angélique Kidjo (Jerusalema), and Indian sitar virtuoso Anoushka Shankar (Chapter III: We Return to Light).

The 68th Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026 in Los Angeles.

The event will celebrate recordings released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025.

This year’s Grammys introduce two new categories — Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover — reflecting evolving music styles and artistry in album design.
