On 6 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Nasser Almotairi, the ACD Secretary General, attended the plenary session with Minister of Sports of Russia at the 13th International Sports Forum ‘Russia, Country of Sports’ in Samara, Russian Federation.
At the session, the Secretary General, as one of the panelists, emphasized the significance of the 1st ACD Ministerial Meeting on Sports, which was held on 5 November, 2025, back-to-back with the Forum, recognizing it as a pivotal milestone and a promising beginning for tangible cooperation from the initiative raises at the 3rd ACD Summit in Doha, held in October 2024 under the theme “Sports Diplomacy”.
The Secretary General underscored the importance of keeping sports free from political influence, focusing on the role of sports diplomacy and the empowerment of youth.
The 13th International Sports Forum gathered leaders and experts from around the world to discuss the future of sports cooperation, emphasizing shared values and opportunities for youth engagements. The plenary session ended with remarks by the President Vladimir Putin.
