Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum was groped by a man as she talked to residents Tuesday on the streets of Mexico City.
Video of the incident shows the man, who was allegedly drunk, sauntering up to Sheinbaum and draping an arm across her shoulder. He can be seen on video attempting to kiss Sheinbaum and then can be seen lifting his other hand to her breast.
Government officials quickly stepped in to stop the man. A visibly uncomfortable Sheinbaum said, “Don’t worry,” as he was escorted away.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken into police custody. On Wednesday, Sheinbaum said she has decided to press charges.
“No man has the right to violate that space,” Sheinbaum said of the incident.
“I decided to press charges because this is something that I experienced as a woman, but that we as women experience in our country,” she added. “I have experienced it before, when I wasn’t president, when I was a student.”
