Cargo plane crashes in Kentucky, US

A cargo plane crashed in Louisville, Kentucky, USA on Wednesday. Reportedly seven people were killed and at least 11 were injured.

According to the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), UPS Flight 2976 took off from Muhammad Ali International Airport for Daniel Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The FAA reported that the accident occurred around 5:15 p.m. (local time). Videos circulating on social media show intense flames and debris.

According to a BBC report, the plane was carrying approximately 38,000 gallons of fuel (about 1.5 lakh liters of oil), which burst into flames after the explosion.

Police have ordered residents within an 8 km radius of the airport to stay indoors. The airport has also been temporarily closed.
