NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – This weekend, Birdie’s Cabaret Theater & Lounge makes its official debut in the Argenta Arts District with a trio of shows featuring comedy, juggling, burlesque performances, magic and more.
The venue is located at 301 Main Street next to Blackberry Market, and according to owners Paul Noffsinger and Paul Prater, it will feature every kind of entertainment you can possibly see on a stage.
“What we’re offering here is a true cabaret, the definition of a cabaret is all arts, it’s a place where people can go and sit down, have a drink, get something to eat and watch any kind of performing arts,” Noffsinger said.

In addition to its stage performances, the venue will also give the audience a chance to be part of the show with karaoke nights, open mic comedy nights, open mic jam sessions and improv.
“You’re gonna see something different all the time,” Noffsinger added. “They’ve had a storied history here as a comedy club and we’re not getting rid of any of that, we’re adding to it and there’s gonna be such a variety of entertainment.”
Another thing that makes Birdie’s unique is its selection of drinks, which includes a carefully curated beer and wine menu and a variety of cocktails and mocktails named after stories in Paul Prater’s book “Haunted Argenta.” They will also be serving traditional bar food like tater tots, flatbreads and pimento cheese with crackers.

Both Prater and Noffsinger have been guiding guests on Haunted Argenta Ghost Tours for over a decade and said that they couldn’t have found a better place to start a venue.
“We couldn’t have found a better place than in Argenta,” Noffsinger said. “Where Argenta is now, and where it’s going, it’s just a win-win for everybody. We’re bringing something new down here to an area that’s absolutely taking off as an entertainment district.”
Birdie’s opened with a soft launch on Sunday, but this weekend they officially cut the ribbon on their opening with three Marvelous Misfits shows.
“It’s a rotating troupe of variety of performers, so that weekend there will be a musician, two comedians, a burlesque act and a Juggalo and sideshow performer with each one being different,” Prater said.
