The weather in Latvia is forecast to remain warm until the end of this week.
On Thursday, temperatures will reach +9 C to +14 C degrees, making this one of the warmest 6 Novembers on record. The national record for the warmth of 6 November was set in 1967, when it was 14.3 degrees in Skulte.
Nights will become slightly cooler over the weekend, with minimum temperatures of +3 C to +8 C, on Sunday early morning down to 1 C to +2 C in places and afternoon temperatures of +6 C to +12 C.
Light rain is expected at times during the day, with clearing skies and sunshine. Haze and fog will form in many areas during the nights and mornings, as slow south-westerly winds prevail. Northerly winds will pick up on Sunday afternoon and evening.
Early next week, the weather will turn colder in Latvia. On Monday morning, temperatures will drop to just below freezing in Vidzeme.
Current forecasts indicate that the cold spell is unlikely to last long. A few nights with a slight frost, followed by warmer weather again. Rainfall will be light, but icy roads may form.
