Pokes in the Pros: Week 9

CASPER, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming has produced several NFL players currently making an impact. Here’s how they did in the most recent week’s slate of games.

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

The Bills’ star quarterback was in peak form on Sunday, as a stellar outing by the reigning MVP helped Buffalo down the Kansas City Chiefs 28–21.

Allen was an incredible 23–26 on his passing attempts, throwing for 273 yards and a touchdown in the process. On the ground, he picked up 19 yards and two more TDs. This marked the second week in a row where Allen accounted for more points through his rushing attack than through the air.

So far this season, Allen has 1,833 passing yards on a completion percentage of just over 70%. He’s thrown for 13 TDs and rushed for another seven.

Next week, the Bills will travel south for a showdown against the Miami Dolphins.

Frank Crum, Denver Broncos

Crum, a lineman, helped shore up his team’s front line in the Broncos’ 18–15 win at Houston.

He took the field for nine snaps, all coming on special teams. This marks the third straight game Crum has appeared in, after he didn’t come off the bench through the first six weeks.

The Broncos will face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10.

Carl Granderson, New Orleans Saints

The Saints’ veteran defensive end was relatively quiet on Sunday as his team lost 34–10 to the Los Angeles Rams.

Granderson recorded two tackles in the loss, while taking the field for the majority of the defensive downs.

After a stellar 2024–25 season that saw Granderson emerge as one of the most improved players in the league, he seemed to begin the 2025–26 season right where he left off with more than five tackles in four of the Saints’ first five games. Since then, however, Granderson’s numbers have dipped. In the four weeks since, he has failed to reach four tackles in a contest and was held to just one tackle twice.

Granderson has 33 total tackles and 4.5 sacks so far this season.

Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals

Wilson did not play in his team’s 47–42 loss to the Chicago Bears due to an injury.

On Tuesday, the Casper native was traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a seventh-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft.

Wilson boasts 46 tackles and a fumble recovery so far this year.

The Cowboys will be enjoying their bye this coming week, so Wilson won’t have an opportunity to make his Dallas debut until a Nov. 17 game against the Raiders.

Andrew Wingard, Jacksonville Jaguars

Wingard turned in a strong performance for the Jaguars in Week 9, and his team won a thrilling 30–29 battle against the Raiders.

Wingard was very effective in the midfield for Jacksonville; he recorded six tackles in the contest, one short of tying his season high.

Thus far in the 2025–26 campaign, Wingard has 45 tackles and an interception to his name.

Jacksonville will face the Houston Texans in Week 10.
