President of Uzbekistan meets with Amir of Qatar

AKIPRESS.COM – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Amir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani as part of his working visit to Doha, UzA reported.

The parties discussed ways to deepen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar and to enhance multifaceted practical cooperation.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the Amir of Qatar on the successful organization of the Second World Summit for Social Development.

Great satisfaction was expressed regarding the productive contacts and exchanges at various levels. Trade turnover has increased by 45% since the beginning of the year. Major investment projects are being implemented with the participation of leading Qatari companies. Interparliamentary and cultural-humanitarian ties are also developing.

Special attention was given to advancing cooperation projects in green energy, transportation, geology, textiles, tourism, infrastructure development, and other sectors.

The parties also exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
