FUJAIRAH: The Jordan national tennis team claimed victory at the first-ever Fujairah Nation Cup Tournament, organized by the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah in collaboration with the UAE Tennis Federation.
Jordan secured the championship title after an exhilarating final against Qatar, while Iran finished in third place. The winners were crowned by Abdul Ghafoor Behroozian, Chairman of the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah, and Nasser Yousuf Al Marzouqi, Secretary-General of the UAE Tennis Federation.
Marzouqi congratulated the top three teams and emphasized that the tournament marks a major milestone in the advancement of tennis in the UAE. He hailed the event as a “landmark achievement” that strengthens both the quality and organization of national and international competitions while nurturing the next generation of Emirati tennis talent.
He also noted that the outcomes of the tournament will be closely reviewed to enhance the readiness and performance of the UAE national team in future international events.
Behroozian commended the exceptional level of play displayed by all teams, especially during the intense semifinals and final rounds. He praised the UAE Tennis Federation’s continued efforts to elevate the sport and expressed confidence that the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah will build on this success to further enrich the UAE’s tennis scene.
Hania Reggi, General Manager of the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah, shared her delight in hosting the inaugural event, which brought together top athletes and fostered a spirit of sportsmanship and community engagement. She also highlighted the crucial support of the UAE Tennis Federation in attracting elite talent and driving the regional growth of tennis.
